James Hardie Building Products is actively seeking a strategic-thinking HR business partner who will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic work environment, support multiple business units and locations through its time of growth.
This role will be part of the corporate HR and support services team, located in Mission Viejo, CA, and will service our Fontana facility as well. We are looking for someone that has a solid knowledge of broad HR areas, including recruiting, retention, development, training, performance management, employee relations, payroll and HRIS systems management.
A successful HR Representative is a self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement, evaluate relevant options and execute appropriate people solutions.
You must be creative, persuasive and have a take-charge attitude.
The best HR Reps partner with the Corporate HR Manager, HRIS Manager, HR support teams and site leaders to support solid human resources strategies. This includes organizational development practices and programs in support of business growth that is consistent with company values. They operate with minimal direction, a sense of urgency and strong accountability for their results.
This is not just a desk job. We are looking for someone who will have a strong presence for the office for 2 locations and build sincere working relationships with every member of the team.
This position will have high visibility and exposure to upper management.

Experience:
The HR Representative for James Hardie needs to have at least 5 years of experience in human resources as a representative or generalist and be well versed in state and federal laws. The ideal person will have worked in a corporate environment for at least one year and will have implemented organizational development programs and have knowledge of HRIS systems and tools, with strong data analysis and interpretation capabilities. We prefer an educational background in human resources, organizational development or business management. They will also have a PHR or SPHR certification or aspire to achieve this certification, have had exposure to employee relations, performance management, compensation, training and development, and recruitment, payroll and HR systems. The best person will bring new concepts to James Hardie and educate us to help us improve and implement best practices.
