Position Description:

As a Transportation Service Specialist, you will be a part of an exciting segment within our Transportation team. Our Transportation Service Specialist has had a tremendous impact on our freight savings initiatives and will continue to do so as we identify new strategies to better align JHBP with the transportation market.

The Transportation Service Specialist will work closely with the Freight Specialist ensuring our loads are picked up from of our manufacturing plants and shipped to our valued customers throughout the US. This position will support our Freight Specialist as they work to capitalize on the utilization of carrier spot market rates and leverage carrier relationships to enhance James Hardie’s low cost transportation position within the industry.

Position

Responsibilities:

Ensure all carrier qualitative processes and procedure are followed daily (50%):

- Post loads on load boards every 30 minutes
- Make delivery appointment for every shipment
- Load/shipment daily checks:
- Morning load check-up
- Afternoon check-in ETA by 12:45 PM local plant time
- Pick-Up Day follow-up
- Delivery Day follow-up, update to Delivered status
- POD follow-up
- Shipment closed-out

Carriers file maintenance, post load-sale problem resolution (50%):

- New carrier set-up packets and follow-up
- Answer freight payment inquiring calls
- Carrier file manager: monitor insurance certificates expiring and Carrier 411 for deactivations or suspensions of DOT authority
- Handle all diversions, returns and TONU
- Carrier contacts and email management

Position Requirements:

- Intermediate to advance knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Full-time, 6:30AM start time but flexible to come in earlier as needed depending on business needs
- Transportation brokering preferably flatbed experience a plus
- Inside phone sales or customer service preferred
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred
- Load Posting experience preferred

Education/Experience Required:

- High School graduate or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
