Well then, take a closer look at James Hardie Building Products. As our Process Engineer you will report to the Engineering Manager and will travel an estimated 50%. You will spend the majority of your time improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process by implementing new solutions and/or processes and managing small capital projects. Position can be based out of any of our manufacturing facilities (Plant City, Pulaski, Peru, Fontana, Cleburne, Waxahachie, Tacoma, Reno) or the facility in Naperville. Traveling as necessary to manufacturing plants in the USA. Estimated travel is 50%.



Responsibilities:

Interacts with manufacturing plants and other Central Manufacturing Support functions to ensure development of viable, achievable processes that can be implemented within specific cost and time restraints.

Responsible for converting theoretical models and implementing real solutions in a timely manner.

Leads various projects that support new products, platform improvements, and process upgrades.



Qualifications:

Basic to advanced mechanical design. Basic CAD skills required, advanced or 3D modeling (SolidWorks) and advantage.

Understanding of manufacturing process flow, with process analysis/modeling ability an advantage.

Demonstrated ability to work with and drive cross-functional groups and external partners.

Strong track-record of developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex problems in a timely manner.

Demonstrated use of project management skills.

Demonstrated intermediate skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with best-practices principles such as Six Sigma Total Quality Management (TQM) preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge and understanding of process flows.

Ability to observe and understand existing and new processes.

Ability to observe and troubleshoot process issues.

Excellent documentation and presentation skills.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial, paper science, engineering technology).
7-10 years hands on experience in a high speed manufacturing or heavy industrial environment

Experience in the following area/s is preferred:

Paper, glass or steel manufacturing, mining, building products or similar heavy industry.
