Job Description:
Position Summary
The Electrical Project Engineer will work on Projects including new installations and modifications and is responsible for all electrical equipment, components, and systems. This individual should be capable of working independently on small capital projects or on a team to complete larger projects
Position Responsibilities
- Develop Project Scope and Budget;
- Supervise power distribution system design including electrical equipment layout, single line diagrams, and wiring schedules
- Prepare electrical equipment list for power distribution and controls;
- Solicit quotations for electrical equipment and components;
- Purchase electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, disconnects, and motor control centers – monitor and expedite deliveries;
- Supervise automation system design including programming
- Purchase hardware and software including field instruments – monitor and expedite deliveries;
- Participate in project design review meetings and coordinate with vendors;
- Prepare electrical installation scope of work, bid and award contracts;
- Supervise electrical equipment component and system installation – coordinate with plant;
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality;
- Enforce corporate and construction department safety regulations;
- Supervise electrical system checkout, startup, and turnover to plant;
- Assist Plant with Electrical Issues;
- Communicate electrical changes to all affected departments;
Education/Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Advanced skills with personal computers including Microsoft Word and Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work in Autocad (Advanced Drawing Skills Preferred)
2-4 Years Experience (Preferred):
- Project Management Experience
- Experience in an Industrial Manufacturing Environment
- Experience with programmable logic control (PLC) and variable frequency drive (VFD) systems on continuous production lines: Allen Bradley PLC-5 or ControlLogix Processors, RS Logix, and Wonderware HMI.
- Experience with digital and analog instrumentation
- Experience with computer network systems
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and applicable OSHA standards
