Job Description:
Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Representative partners with the Corporate Human Resource Manager to develop employee capabilities and improve performance of business operations within the R&D, Engineering and Central Manufacturing organizations. This will include the facilitation and implementation of key HR strategies and client specific initiatives to recruit, retain and develop the workforce located throughout the US. In addition, HR Representative will help develop and implement process improvements in the HR department’s service and support to teams, assist with day to day operations and perform various administrative duties. The incumbent will showcase his/her communication, employee relations expertise and organizational skills to ensure our internal clients are provided assistance, support and customer service in line with the Business strategies and Company’s missions and values.

Position Responsibilities
Participates in various compan
y-wide workforce and Human Resources initiatives addressing areas of employee development and training programs. (30%)

 Implement and execute training programs for business groups, in the form of scheduling attendees, organizing training material, compiling, processing, and recording training assessment and evaluation forms.
 Conduct needs assessment for development in technical or leadership competencies.
 Partner with hiring managers to develop and coordinate 90-day on-boarding programs for new hires and intern employees for the various client groups, including remote based employees.
 Conduct New Hire Orientation to ensure that all new employees are adequately introduced and informed of all pertinent Company information, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and then accurately processing all completed paperwork, as required.
 Assist in providing guidance and direction in use of various development tools, approaches and methods to ensure effectiveness of programs.
 Track development progress to assist in employee development, High-Potential programs, succession planning and promotions.

Participates in the workforce recruiting efforts for the site and various other business groups (25%)

 Partner with Corporate HR Manager to implement effective and innovative recruiting strategies;
 Assist with resourcing candidates for various open positions, including posting on company career page, internet job sites and social networks.
 Conduct initial phone screens with candidates, schedule interviews with hiring team and coordinate interviewing events.
 Manage and responsible for the recruitment documentation, including requisitions, job postings, background checks and offer letters.
 Participate in college recruitment activities and events with local universities and establish university communication process to further enhance entry level recruitment and internship programs for R&D and Engineering.

Assumes responsibility for the administration of employee retention and recognition programs. (20%)

 Assist the HR Manager to implement effective retention strategies, including recognition, employee surveys and performance management systems.
 Seek out and presents alternatives to enhance morale and employee communications
 Drive step change to improve communications and morale.
 Conduct focus group sessions to gain feedback on employee engagement for Fontana as well as remote teams.
 Effectively identify areas of improvement and ensure action items are addressed and completed.
 Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Human Resources teams, site personnel and with management.
 Responsible for managing Community Involvement programs, including coordinating events and communicating to site employee for participation and involvement.

Assumes responsibility for effectively recording, maintaining, and reporting employee data and human resources information. (15%)

 Ensure that human resources files and employment records are accurate, organized, and up-to-date, as well as filed and maintained in accordance with legal requirements, Company policies & procedures.
 Update various reports, logs and employee database information for HR or client group organization development records.
 Provide superior employee administrative support such as accurate, organized, and up-to-date employee files.

Assumes responsibility for HR related duties as required or assigned. (10%)

 Communicate HR and company policies and programs to site employees as needed.
 Provide superior employee administrative support by responding to employment-related inquires, coordinating with related departments, other HR teams and client groups, as required, ensuring that all inquiries are quickly addressed and in a timely manner.
 Assist the HR team, site management and administrative personnel with miscellaneous administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Quantitative Dimensions

Decision Making:

The HR Representative will partner with the Corporate HR Manager and site management teams and business leaders to respond to employee inquiries and issues. Incumbent will also be responsible for assessing current programs in development, retention and recruiting that fall within the scope of position, and recommend improvements and updates as needed.

Scope of Position:

The incumbent will provide support, assistance and own various employee-related areas including recruitment, retention programs, employment inquiries,

BENEFITS: administration, employee morale programs, surveys, and organizational development. He/She will also act as the key contact for HR administrative tasks.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:

- Demonstrated ability to implement development and training programs within a large corporate environment, with multiple stake holders and site locations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment law and equal employment guidelines and policies including the principles and practices of staffing administration including methods and techniques used in recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, and training.
- Knowledge of core capabilities/competencies approach to staffing and meeting a large organization’s business needs.
- Knowledge of and ability to learn various innovative sourcing and prescreening activities and related assessment tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and principles of human resources including FMLA, ADA, worker’s compensation, safety administration, benefits, employee relations, and providing consultative services to various client groups.
- Demonstrated advanced skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).
- Demonstrated high level of accuracy in work with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively take action to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment and successful stress tolerance.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service to wide range of client groups.
- Ability to work effectively with site and corporate HR teams, as well as all levels of employees and management.

Education/Experience
Required:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
- 5 or more years of generalist HR or office experience with exposure to organizational development and training, employee assistance, benefits administration, employee recognition, and retention programs,
- Experience working in a technical, R&D and/or Engineering environment under a matrix organization preferred.
